I have used this device twice, I did have to download the owner's manual from the internet which was not hard to find. The tips are still available from the manufactor. Throw away pump - try finding replacement vanes for Robinair
Works good for a while until the rotary vanes wear out which doesn't take long if you use it every day in the HVAC residential field. The real bummer is that you can't buy the parts to repair it which really bites because it is so easy to replace the vanes inside the pump if you could just buy them. Sure you can buy the whole pump cartridge for nearly as much as the whole pump but why would you want to do that. You can find other parts such as the handle and stuff like that but not the vanes which are the main thing that wears out. We are only buying Yellow Jacket now and the only reason is the fact that Yellow Jacket does sell the vanes. So for $40.00 we can easily repair the pump and have it working like new instead of starting over and buying new. If it wasn't for the parts issue we would give it 5 stars because it works as good as any other pump we have seen. If you don't believe us about the vane issue then search online for Robinair vanes and call around to see if you can find...

Oil drain valve is positioned at the bottom of the oil reservoir and angled for faster and more complete draining. The oil fill port makes adding oil simple since the port is accessible from the front or either side. The sight glass on the front of the pump shows you when enough oil has been added. Well, after doing a bunch of research and checking out the testimonials below and somewhere else, I chose to buy TIF Instruments TIFXP-1A Automatic Halogen Leak Detector. Though I 'd have liked a much better guarantee, I decided the functions were attractive enough to attempt it. It is a lot of cash to discard if it fails just after the warranty. I am absolutely in love with this product. It is high quality product, wise attributes. I just got it today, and I will upgrade my review later if required.

Works very well
I purchased this for general automotive a/c work (R134a). Have successfully pinpointed leaks on several different vehicles. One hose leak, one condenser leak, and one leak at a 0-ring fitting. These were very slow leaks, and this unit made finding them easy. I used it at the highest sensitivity setting where it was still quite stable. Take your time and carefully explore around everything that has refrigerant in it, even areas where you don't expect a leak. You will find the leak with this unit. False positives are infrequent. Also used it to find a slow leak in an R410 home system. I am very satisfied, and recommend this unit.
