Well, after doing a bunch of research and reviewing the testimonials right here and in other places, I decided to purchase Champion Power Equipment 73536i 2,000 Watt 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Inverter Generator (CARB Compliant). Though I 'd have liked a much better warranty, I chose the features were appealing enough to try it. It is a lot of cash to discard if it fails just after the guarantee. I am entirely in love with this product. It is high quality item, smart attributes. I just got it today, and I will upgrade my review later if needed.

My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner...

I recently purchased this generator for my lightweight hybrid camper after debating about it for months. I tend to be long-winded about these things so let me say up front that my only regret with this purchase is that I waited too long. The generator is everything that it's represented to be. I purchased my unit for "dry" camping in the boondocks (no power or other hookups) with a wife who likes her bathroom, her shower, and her kitchen gadgets like the coffee maker.

This unit will not run the typcial RV AC unit, but the fact is you should know that.

Neither the manufacturer nor the retailer ever make that claim. In fact, Champion advertises (recommends) a single 2,000-watt unit for "tent camping." Obviously, you can parallel this unit with a kit and a second unit for more...

Bought this unit about a month ago. I already own 2 champion generators as I live in the country and rely on solar power for my needs. Been using a 4000 watts gas daily for my travel trailer, and a 5000 watts propane whenever I need 220 volts or heavy power to run my contractor's tools. Both have been very reliable.
Wanted something quiet and fuel efficient for movie watching at night without the background noise.
So far, this unit has performed to my expectations.
Same quality as the other 2 generators, much lighter to carry around, easy to understand instructions.If you put gas in it, fill up the oil, and don't forget to turn on the main switch, the gas, and the tank breather on the filler cap, it will start on first pull. ( first time users might have to practice the pull. Whimpy pulls won't do it, and "gorilla" pulls will break the cord . Use common sense. )

Excellent generator
I will be living off the grid in Arizona soon, so this generator will compliment my solar power system. I did a LOT of research before buying. As a portable inverter generator, this has the biggest engine and fuel tank in it's price and size range. For all the features this unit has, it looks like a bargain to me. A similar unit with a big name like Yamaha, Honda, or Robin-Subaru will cost at least twice as much.
Some pointers for set-up- the manual says it requires a liter of oil and is shipped empty. A quart is a bit less than a liter, so I put that in and it overflowed. First time try a few tablespoons less than a quart. It is shipped with a fully charged battery, but that needs to be plugged in (no tools required). To change the oil, one is supposed to attach a drain pipe to the oil filler opening and tilt the generator. The drain pipe supplied is very cheap plastic. I will be replacing that with a brass pipe nipple from the hardware store.

I ordered this generator/inverter from Amazon.com & it arrived 2 days later with free shipping! The unit was packaged well. The first thing I noticed was it's physical dimensions were larger than the Honda I previously owned. This is a backup generator & will be used for remote power around my property.

The unit started on the 4th pull. It ran for 5 minutes & died. The next day it did the same thing. Rather than call customer service, I decided to try & fix the problem. It was an easy repair, the inline fuel filter was cracked & leaking allowing the carb to suck air. $2.47 at the parts store & good as new.

As far as performance, it is just slightly louder than the Honda, starts easily & performs as stated. I would have given it 5 stars but the fuel filter issue keeps me from doing that. If you have the cash, spend the extra $500 on the Honda & you will not go wrong because they make a great product, if not, the Hyundai is a good exception. I have no regrets on...

75 Hours of Air Conditioning
This unit saved me following the "derecho" that struck the DC area during the night of May 29-30, 2012. I purchased this product last fall to be used in the mountains with my trailer in a membership camp ground. Several other units are in close proximity, so I was concerned with noise. This is a GREAT unit. Quiet and runs about 11 hours on 5 gallons of gas and starts on the first pull every time. It has an economy mode which is adequate for most day time uses and is so quiet it can barely be heard inside the unit. When microwaves, air conditioners and other more power hungry devices are used, it automatically accelerates. Tne noise level is higher, and can be heard up to 40 feet from the trailer but it still is relatively quiet. The unit is very light, about 60 pounds, so it is easy to handle by the elderly. I purchased this unit on the recommendation of a camp ground neighbor, who is about 60 feet away. He has been using it for several years and I never ever heard it running.
