I got this item about 5 days back and am very delighted with the product. I had an LG LW1012ER Energy Star 10,000 BTU Window-Mounted Air Conditioner with Remote Control (115 volts) and I would never buy once again. So far so good. Cannot be even worse than the LG LW1012ER Energy Star 10,000 BTU Window-Mounted Air Conditioner with Remote Control (115 volts) Likewise if you registered it on line you got an extra two months warranty.
LG is the Best Buy!
I currently have one 8000 BTU and one 10,000 BTU in my two bedrooms. The 8000 BTU is in a 10' x 12' room and was purchased in 2005. The 10,000 is in a 14' x 12' room and was purchased in 2008. Both have functioned flawlessly. Their appearence is very nice and having a remote control is excellent. Because of the reliability of my previous two units I went with LG again even though they had some nice looking GE units on sale at Home Depot. I assumed this unit would look just like my earlier 10,000 BTU unit but they made some minor cosmetic changes from the earlier model LWHD1006RY6 that I have. Still looks good though. Unit is now mounted in my wall in the living room approx 14' x 20' and it is working great - just like the two older ones. I don't usually have good luck with appliances, but since I started purchasing LG I haven't had any problems.

Most Underlined Buyer Review : great unit
I recently purchased this air conditioner as a replacement for an older model LG that we've had for about 5 years. It was still working but we wanted to update all of the appliances. Having only been installed for a couple of weeks, so far there is only one complaint - it is rather loud. In all fairness I must say we aren't sitting very far away from it, but I'm pretty sure the one we had before (same specs) wasn't quite as loud. It does cool the Louisiana heat right on out of the room though, which is the reason I absoutely love it. I would definitely purchase it or another LG a/c and would highly recommend the brand to others.
As an added note, I bought this thru Amazon Prime, it was delivered free within just a few business days. My membership has already paid for itself and then some! Very satisfied customer here. Thanks Amazon!
