We bought the to dry out a very damp apartment. It pulled out 10 gallons a day for weeks! This unit is clearly designed for a large space, and had no problem handling our 800 Sq. Ft. apartment. The downsides: It is a bit noisy, and it would be nice to have a shut off switch for the full tank alert. And of course, it uses a fair amount of electricity. This is a great unit for very damp spaces (like basements), or homes that have mold/mildew problems.
