I paid $163.17 for this item on October 4th, 2012. First of all, the majority of the reviews here are outdated. BUT they have fixed any and all problems, so order with out fear. I got this item with the full knowledge that when I got it I would be calling the manufacturer to get it working with my hose, but when I called they said my unit was a 2012 model and it was good to go.
I live in coastal texas, in a 1200 sq/ft apartment that was unbearable with out the AC running all day. I'm more then ok at the temperature set at 80, with the dehumidifier going in the kitchen, small hose cut to fit running into the sink.

Most Underlined Buyer Review : Very pleased
Some of the details. First, I bought this item at Best Buy for about $150.00, plus (yes) the $20.00 for the two year extended warranty. Second, I am writing from Austin, Texas, where the humidity is not oppressive like Houston, but it is certainly not bone dry like Phoenix. And, third, I live in a 600sf+ apartment, for which the capacity of this humidifier is very well suited.
Some of the reviewers of other Frigidaire dehumidifiers have complained of noise, heat and difficulty removing the water bucket. Yes, it does make some noise, but I don't find it at all distracting, much less bothersome. If you are wanting something whisper quiet, this is not the unit you want.
