I purchased and had this generator installed by a professional installer in October 2009. The following winter, we had Snowmageddon and we were one of the few homes in the area with electricity. I perform an oil and filter change and new spark plugs annually (can buy locally at Ace Hardware) and have had no problems. It's simple to do and it uses synthetic oil. It's saved me pain and agony (no loss of freezer contents) and given me great comfort in both winter and summer when we've lost electric power for days on end (we're in the Wash., DC area and it happens a lot more often than it should). I have a 3600 square foot house and although we never run everything in the house at once, we do conduct our lives as normal when the generator is running - oven, washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc. My only warning is to VERY carefully consider landscaping around the unit - it does blow VERY hot air when it is running and I've ruined a couple of small shrubs that we were using to provide...
