Well, after doing a great deal of research and reviewing the reviews below and elsewhere, I decided to purchase ComfortAire PD121B 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner With Auto Restart Function. Though I 'd have chosen a better guarantee, I chose the functions were attractive enough to try it. It is a great deal of money to toss away if it fails just after the guarantee. I am absolutely in love with this product. It is high quality item, smart features. I just got it today, and I will upgrade my review later if required.

I must have spent 24 hours straight reading every review on every portable a/c I could find. What I didn't like was most items had a range from really great to really awful. After having owned one of the worst on the market(Everstar)I just couldn't risk buying another lemon. There wasn't much info on the Comfort-Aire I could find. Yes the specs and general info is here but not many people have bought one. But of the seven reviews I came across....all were totally positive. So I bought one. People do not under-estimate a good sturdy vent kit. It has one! A dual exhaust/intake system is a must. You eliminate the drip pan all together! Its so sturdy and simple in its design. I have a 336 sq.ft.space(my upstairs bonus room) to cool. Even though it is ventilated like the rest of the house...heat does rise. 12,000 BTUs is more than enough power...we have to keep it on low all the time. I haven't had it long..a week.. so I can't really write about its durability or reliability yet but I'm...
