Disappointed in output
I chose this adapter for its 7A / 84W rating to handle higher loads. With no load or light load (GPS or cell phone charger) it outputs 12.3V. While this is technically "12V" and will work for most small devices, that voltage is not the same as an automobile cigarette lighter voltage which is usually between 13.2V to 14.4V while the engine is running.
But that is not the biggest problem. I could live with 12.3V if it could hold that voltage output that at higher loads, but at a 2A (5ohm) load the output voltage drops to 10.2V, which is only around 20W, far shy of the rated output of 7A or 84W. I didn't try with higher loads as that is already too low for what I needed.
So if you're looking for 2A or higher output, look for a different product.
