Well, after doing a lot of research and checking out the reviews right here and in other places, I decided to buy LG Heat / Cool Window Air Conditioner with Remote - 7000 BTU. Though I 'd have liked a much better warranty, I decided the features were appealing enough to try it. It is a lot of cash to get rid of if it fails simply after the guarantee. I am absolutely in love with this product. It is high quality item, wise functions. I simply got it today, and I will upgrade my testimonial later if required.
Wonderful unit
I've had this window unit for over a year, and I really love it.
First of all, my bedroom is 20x15 feet, one wall has one huge window on it, the second wall separates my bedroom from the garage, and a third wall has THREE floor-to-ceiling windows. Obviously, my bedroom is scorching hot in the summer, and freezing cold in the winter.
I've needed a window unit for years, but was worried about the expense of having one. I shouldn't have worried. First of all, the window unit helps cool down the house, and so the main house unit doesn't work as hard. Secondly, there is an energy saver option to use, so that it only checks to see if it needs to come on every 3 minutes. Turns out that other than the initial cost of the unit, the upkeep cost isn't much different from before I got it.

we have a small guesthouse, and this unit is perfect. it heats well, and it's nice to not have to worry about heaters and cords on the floor. it's small, compact. the unit is easy to install..you can install the sleeve and then slide the unit in. runs on 110v. at this time, have not used the a/c. a refurbished unit, seller was prompt with delivery.
