I got this item about 5 days ago and am very pleased with the item. I had an Honeywell MN12CES 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control - Black/Silver and I would never purchase once again. Up until now so excellent. Can't be even worse than the Honeywell MN12CES 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control - Black/Silver Likewise if you registered it on line you got an additional two months guarantee.

Great, very cool, easy install.
I don't know why anyone with a regular up-down sash window would get one of these. A window unit will cool better and is easier to install. I put this in a house with crank windows only so I have no choice. I used a hole saw to cut a 5" hole through the wall, installed a dryer vent kit and hooked the output tube of this unit to it. Works great. It easily cools the entire downstairs on my house, about 1500 sq ft, even on 90+ days. The output tube flow a great deal of air, far, far more than a dryer does. It easily handles the condensate that is placed into the air flow. No leaks or accumulation anywhere. Quieter than I thought, it hums away in the corner and I can talk over it. Quieter than any window unit I have ever owned. Remote is a bit awkward. You have to hit a button a couple times to get it to recognize the remote each time, but it works. Overall very good, would buy another.
